i downloaded the kaspersky antivirus program for linux. it is a demo
version, but i don't mind if it simply lists this infected files since
i can remove themmyself. i put the updates on a disk and it just
wouldn't work. (See below)

SO,
does anyone know where the download page is for the LINUX McAfee
Viruscan or some other, more-improved LINUX anti-virus scanning
software?

Thanks

Hmm, remember my comment about Google? I hoped I wasn't being too
subtle before, but if so, STFW before you post.

Maybe you could just take a lucky guess and go to mcafee.com (or
mcafeeb2b.com)?

Try downloading avp.set from their download site. If that doesn't work,
try hitting the REPLY button instead of the NEW button, OK?

Which is indeed how i discovered that McAfee had a Linux-platform
virus scan, Nick.

A search on Google for "mcafee antivirus linux" comes up with a page
where you can get it on the VERY FIRST RESULT.

You started a new thread instead of replying to the old one for
clarification.

I have installed and use kavscanner all the time. no probs with it.
I am using kavwselinux.tgz with FreeBSD4.4 i also have it running on my mail
server without any problems...
try editing the AvpUnix.ini file. and getting the last virus files from the
website.
read the install file for more info..
