I think I know something about an unfortunate conversation taking place in important IT job interviews these days:
Interviewer: You are qualified and have got the job. Any questions?
Applicant: If I were targeted and then smeared and captured by the CIA, would your firm stand up for me and resolve the problem so I could have a life?
Interviewer: Honestly, we would not be able to do that.
Applicant: I'm concerned that I would be targeted if I worked for your firm, because I would have to "flaunt my talent" and would not be able to disguise my engineering-related capabilities if I worked for you. Thus, I unfortunately must decline your generous offer to protect myself, as well as all other job offers like it in the United States.
This is a huge brewing for IT in the US; I just got a job email for a job with an automobile plant firm seeking a simulation engineer. The job sounds good and I submitted my resume, but I don't think I'll hear back, due to CIA restrictions against me. I read the email as a protest...how are car companies going to recruit top talent if they have to admit that they cannot protect them from government political thugs?
I would tend to believe in the idea that some ethical/legal "major-league very well-engineered anti-Democratic-Party sabotage" is in the works. There are numerous multi-billion dollar car companies in the US that are likely losing millions and millions of dollars a year over this outrage that's being done to me and the engineers that won't accept offers due to fear of similar treatment in the event of "talent detection"; people can just be web developers and keep their families safe. The Democratic Party is still acting invincible; I wouldn't be surprised if a calculated "extremely distressing outcome" were legally inflicted on Democrats as retaliation for this, they're acting like they live in their own little world and answer to no one and are invulnerable to all outcomes due to having armed security, as though nothing else matters.
Anyway, we'll see what happens.
