Hi,

I can wrap some text around a figure with the wrapfig or picins package.

But how do I wrap the caption around its figure?
The caption is very long and the figure is rather small:

_______________________
Figure 5 Important figure
This is my caption it is very | Figure |
long and I dont want to waste
too much space on it. It should |_______________________|
be counted like a normal figure caption and appear in the
list of figures. I would really appreciate any help in
making this work.

thank you very much for your answer,

Ido

use packages nonfloat and floatflt/wrapfig

Herbert

\documentclass[12pt]{article}
\usepackage{floatflt}
\usepackage{nonfloat}
\textwidth=10cm% only demo
\begin{document}

\begin{floatingfigure}[r]{5.5cm}
\rule{5cm}{2cm}
\end{floatingfigure}%
\noindent\refstepcounter{figure}Figure \thefigure:\label{fig:1}

This is my caption it is very

long and I dont want to waste
too much space on it. It should

be counted like a normal figure caption and appear in the
list of figures. I would really appreciate any help in
making this work.

The figure~\ref{fig:1} is a nice figure

\end{document}

FYI folks-

wrapfig is more reliable than floatflt. floatflt (which is
recommended by Helmut Kopka and Patrick Daly in "Guide to LaTeX")
screws up when I use it. Figures overlap text. Try wrapfig first.
