Fat arrows?

I'd like to have arrows such as $\rightarrow$ come out with heavier lines.
Is there any (reasonably easy) way to do that? Changing the math font
doesn't do it ...

Various dingbat fonts have heavy arrows. Take a look at the
Comprehensive LaTeX Symbol List (on CTAN, http://www.ctan.org) for
font samples. The catch is that these aren't usually designed to
work in math mode, so you'll probably need to put them in an \mbox.
