natbib, inbook, and references format

I am using the natbib package to format my citations and
references. So far, everything is mostly fine.
My problem is related to using an "inbook" citation

Example:

@InBook{someauthor1980,
author = {An Author},
editor = {Joe Editor},
title = {A book},
chapter = {The chapter title},
pages = {61--77}
}

(Yes, I have intentionally left out the information for other fields
for this example)

Here is the result I get:

An Author. {\em The chapter title}, chapter A book, pages 61--77.

Here is what I want/expect:

An Author. The chapter title. In: Editor, Joe (ed.) A book, pages
61--77.

This is the wrong type. InBook is for one chapter in a book by a *single
author* (all chapters by the same person).

Where the authors are all different, you need to use InCollection:

@InCollection{someauthor1980,
title = {The chapter title},
year = 1980,

author = {An Author},

booktitle = {A book},
editor = {Joe Eddy},
publisher = {Mr Publisher},
pages = {61--77}}

This provides:

[1] An Author. The chapter title. In Joe Eddy, editor, A book, pages
61–77. Mr Publisher, 1980.
