Filled DIAMOND symbol in LaTex

Hi LaTex/Tex gurus:
I would like to obtain a filled diamond symbol using LaTex.
The $\diamond$ command results in a diamond symbol that is
not filled. If you know how to create filled symbols can
you please let me know?

I am trying to get LaTex to print a filled diamond symbol but
without much success. I tried $\diamond$ but it gives me a hollow
diamond. Is there any way to get a filled diamond symbol? I would
appreciate any help regarding this.

Perhaps \diamondsuit will do the trick.

Use msam fonts, character 7.
