I deperately need to find out how to create filled triangles in
either Latex or Tex for some figure captions and table legends.
Of course, Latex has the command \triangle, but that is in outline
form only.

Hopefully, one of you wizards will be able to help me. This problem
does not seem to have been addressed yet. Thanks in advance,

The AMS package has these symbols: just \usepackage{amssymb} in
LaTeX. The symbols are called \blacktriangle, \blacktriangledown,
\blacktriangleleft, and \blacktriangleright.
