>Can someone please explain to me what is web2c?
Also known as UnixTeX, it is the standard way
of implementing TeX and related programs on a Unix system.
It works by translating Knuth's original .web files into C,
hence the name.
You can find it at the CTANs, eg ftp.shsu.edu,
in /tex-archive/systems/unix.
You will need the files web.tar.gz, web2c.tar.gz and lib.tar.gz.
