I am using LaTeX and have a problem with the indentation of text in
parboxs.

For example I have the following:

Paragraph of text

\parbox{\linewidth} { Another paragraph of text }

I will get as output

Paragraph of text
Another paragraph of text

Why is the parbox being indented? And how can i prevent this?

because it's defined to start a new paragraph, so it starts with
paragraph indent, just like any other paragraph. (this of course
means that your construct will produce overfull boxes to the extent of
\parindent, normally.)

you _can_ have

Paragraph of text

\noindent\parbox{\linewidth}{Another paragraph of text}

but that's probably not what you're after, either.

what's the design specification of what you want to do?
