Dear all,

I have installed the font "Comic Sans" via http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/comicsans

I work on MacOS ML and TexLive 2012. I followed all the steps and
used updmap and mktexlsr. But when I use \usepackage{comicsans},
I have

LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `OT1/comic/m/n' undefined
(Font) using `OT1/cmr/m/n' instead on input line 6.

LaTeX Font Warning: Some font shapes were not available, defaults substituted.

This is not the first time I install new fonts but I don't know why it doesn't
work this time. If you have any idea to solve this problem, I would be very
happy.

Thanks in advance,
best regards,
Stef

I tried to install the package and got the same result. The obvious
problem is that the .fd files haven't been installed. Presumably
these are to be generated by processing comicsans.dtx with latex.
But that fails because I have no t2aenc.def file and I don't know
where to find it.

I suggest you contact the maintainer at scott...@pakin.org.

i could find no sign that they were even generated.

me neither; may be somewhere in some cyrillic software dist.

You probably didn't get the .fd files, which do not show up when I
search the CTAN file list. They can be found in
install/macros/latex/contrib/comicsans.tds.zip
which is the easiest way to install the fonts. You must, of course
remember to updmap.

I think it should be under install/fonts.

The main comicsans directory is in macros\latex\contrib. The .tds.zip
is suppose to be in a directory matching that. Arguably both should be
under fonts.

For my own part, I find things on CTAN by downloading FILES.byname
and grepping, so it hardly matters to me where things are.

It is odd that the .fd files are not in the main directory. The .dtx
produces a makefile that seems like it would make them, along with
all the already existing tfm's and vf's, yet they are not included.

Dear all,

Thank you very much for your help. It works well using the files
from install/macros/latex/contrib/comicsans.tds.zip
