Does anybody know how to get an postscript output of gnuplot including
greek letters, superscripts, and subscripts?

I would like to include the postscriptfile using epsfig.

Any suggestions are welcome.

The way I do this is as follows:

First I generate the graphics using gnuplot.
Then I start xfig, and include this graphic as a picture object. I then
put the required texts and Greek letters on the picture, using a LaTeX
font *and* setting the "Special" flag in the text flags, so that I can
write labels like $\gamma_\nu$.

I then export the entire graphics as combined ps/LaTeX, and put a
\input{figgraph.pstex_t} (I believe, if the fig file was figgraph)
into the LaTeX text where I want the graphics to appear.

Of course, I am assuming that you want to use this in a LaTeX file...
If not, you can use LaTeX, dvips and ps2epsi (included in ghostscript) to
arrive again at an eps file.

This "post-processing" of graphics is rather nice to do with xfig.

You might want to try the enhpost terminal which is already in gnuplot-beta
version 3.6. There have also been some patches for version 3.5 around.

I haven't yet tried it with gnuplot, but psfrag does this job excellent
for pictures created with xfig. I guess, it should work for gnuplot
as well.

psfrag can be found on CTAN in macros/latex/contrib/supported/psfrag.
