Hello,
I am new to the beamer package and I want to do a special overlay with
tables.
I am using a 2 by 2 table, that means I have two dimension with two
categories each. I want first to show the two dimensions and
categories (that means the two top rows and the two left columns) and
then show the four remaining cells one after anothter (by overlay). Or
in other words, I have classification with four cells and want to show
them cell-wise.
Here an example how the table look likes when its done.

\frame
{ \frametitle{Target Audience by Constraints}
\begin{table}
\centering
\begin{tabularx}{1\textwidth}{c| c X X }
& \multicolumn{3}{c}{Expertise} \\ \hline
& & Low & High \\ \cline{2-4}
\multirow{2}{*}{Time} & Low & Politician, Journalist, Citizens &
Ministerial Officials \\ cline{2-4} & High &Local Officials &
Researcher, Junior Ministerial Official, Specialized Agency \\ \hline
\end{tabularx}
\end{table}
}

thanks for any suggestions.
Best,
Stefan

In order to superimpose your tables properly, perhaps showing empty
cells first, you can fill your empty cells with \phantom{<material to come>}
so that borders match exactly.

Use \uncover<2-> for the headings (i.e., \uncover<2->{Low}) and then
uncover the values (using <3->, <4->, <5-> and <6-> as you wish them
displayed. Alternatively you could use \visible to make the text
completely disappear until you won't to make them visible.

Perhaps this is what you are trying to do?

There's this document, located at:
http://faq.ktug.or.kr/wiki/uploads/beamer_guide.pdf

specifically pages 54--58.

He says to use the \onslide command within an overprint environment,
however all my attempts to duplicate his results have failed. Does
anyone know the code to get the intended effect (I've been unable to
contact the author)?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanx for the advice. The uncover command worked find. The content
does not fill exactly the cell, for a presenation its totally
sufficient.
Best,
Stefan
