Hi.
I am using Scientific workplace 5.0 to write paper on mathematics. I
want to send papers to some journal. They are putting their tex style
files ( which creates the form they want ) in their website. In
letex2e, winedit etc. , it is easy to use this style file. But in SWP
5.0, I can not do this. Can anybody explain How I can use this style
file in SWP5.0?

I know I add some tex commands by using encapsulated tex field. But is
it possible by copying journal's style file(*.sty or *.cls or etc. )
to some place in SWP file directories?

In scientific workplace directories, there is a directory
C:\swp50\Styles, but there are only certain journals syle files, how
can i add the new journal style files?
(Note: I copied journal style files to the directory C:\swp50\Styles,
but it doesn' t work.

Thanks in advance.

so it would appear that there's no-one around who knows the answer.
this may be because nobody here has used swp (they once offered a demo
on a floppy: that's the nearest i've ever got to using it).

surely the best bet is to ask mckichan's support people? -- they'll
surely know, if they deign to speak to you at all...

SWP means something different by "styles" than latex: their styles
folder contains information for organizing your work on-screen (the cst
files). What you need to do is put the latex material in the latex
tree, which is typically under

c:\swp55\tcitex\tex\latex\contrib

and create a new folder there. (If your package expects to be somewhere
else, go with that). Assuming that the stuff you want to use is not a
class (cls), you can open your text in swp, do Typeset -> Preamble and
then add

\RequirePackage{your_package}

That should give you the look-and-feel, as long as what your package is
doing is just redefining existing commands. If you have more complicated
needs (eg a class) then my advice would be to go to the SWP Forum at

http://forum.mackichan.com:81/~mackichan/login

and look/ask there.

Write your article in the standard LaTeX article style, and submit it
in that form. It's the Journal's job to fuss with the TeX, not yours.

Gultekin,
Sorry you're having problems. Full directions for using external
typesetting specifications in Scientific WorkPlace are available in the
online Help - Search - typesetting specifications - typesetting
specifications - typesetting specifications from outside sources.
Technical support is more generally available from the distributor who
sold the software to you. Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Christopher
