Greetings,

I'm using biblatex-chicago 0.9.8d and didn't have problem with biber before. But I updated my biber to 0.9.9 and biblatex to 1.7 using TeXLive 2011. Now when I run biber, it can't find the .bcf file:

INFO - This is Biber 0.9.9
INFO - Logfile is 'Root.blg'
ERROR - Cannot find control file 'Root.bcf'! - did you pass the "backend=biber" option to BibLaTeX?
INFO - ERRORS: 1

There *is* actually Root.bcf in that directory. Can someone please help? I ran sudo texhash already, but it didn't help. I'm using TeXShop 3.04 and Lion OS X. Thank you.

Hi Denis,

Yes, I had that in my preamble already:

\usepackage[notes,strict,backend=biber,bibencoding=inputenc,annotation]{biblatex-chicago}

I also tried:

\usepackage[chicago-notes,strict,backend=biber,bibencoding=inputenc,annotation]{biblatex}

Still, I got the same message. This didn't happen before.

Make a complete example that other can test.

Oh, it's my silly fault. I worked in a wrong directory. :( My sincere apologies, and many thanks for your replies.
