You may have found .tfm or whatever files, but you won't (legally)
have got the actual fonts unless you've paid for them.

I've seen this error message before: IIRC it's symptomatic of not
having the right macros. The actual details (I'm not going to go into
them, since I don't remember them) are deeply tied up with the (ahem)
eccentric way Knuth implemented maths font families.
If you buy the mathtime fonts, you get the macros with them.
Otherwise, there are LaTeX macros for using them in
macros/latex/packages/psnfss (I've not had call to install them
myself).

Disclaimer: I'm terribly sorry, everyone, for deigning to mention a
commercial font in this newsgroup, but he did _ask_, honest....

What I don't understand:
If you had bought the MathTime fonts from Y&Y, you would have all the
necessary files.
If you haven't bought the fonts, you will be able to typeset the document
if you get the tfm files from the Y&Y web site. But don't you want to be
able to preview or print out the document? You can't get the typefaces
free in the net, you have to pay money for them.
