Hi!
There are explanations on the use of OCG layers on texample and in the newest pgfplots help documented.
This seems to work great. Having 16 3D plots on a single page I have to externalize my plots. Sadly, then the ocg's are broken.
Renaming the .dpth file to .aux and deleting the actual depth I can get the external files to have the ocg's present, but upon inclusion some information gets lost. The ocg layers are all displayed (and flicker when opening the pdf) and selecting or deselecting visibility does not work anymore.
Has anyone experienced the same and probably found a solution to this problem?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

similar things occur if you add javascript stuff using the clickable
lib - they are present in the externalized pdf but will be ignored
when including it.

If so, then it is "a known issue" for which neither tikz nor pgfplots
have a solution.

This might be a problem of the graphics inclusion methods at hand...
in this case, you may want to reformulate the question as in "How can
I preserve OCG layers using \includegraphics{<some image with OCG
layers>}?"

Could you verify that \includegraphics fails to include the OCG layers
even though the included pdf has fully functional OCG layers?
This might indicate the next steps.

Best regards

Christian
