Please walk me through the steps in printing a pdf file in which its
print icon is grayed out. I'm not a techie.

You can't print it, the author of the PDF has secured it against
printing out. If you know the person, ask them if they will provide
you with one where printing is allowed, maybe it was inadvertant. If
they've allowed cut and paste (unlikely if they're not allowing
printing) you could get round it that way.

1. Open pdf file in Acrobat on PC
2. Ctrl L
3. Print Scrn (next to F12 on your keyboard)
4. Open e.g. Photoshop, PhotoPaint
5. File/New Page
6. Ctrl V
7. Crop your page!
8. Print
9. Choose Fit to Page - fiddle with settings till you find the best one

BTW - what works (if) as Print Screen on Mac?

The "not printable" switch is to place a method of preventing paper wasting
Use ghostscipt, in order to do this. Did I already answer to this
announcement? Possibly.
