Hi,

It seems that there is some problem with this pdf, where the text can
not be copied (ctrl-C in Acrobat)?

citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/summary?doi=10.1.1.136.9289

Does anybody know if there is a software that can fix this pdf file so
that the text can be copied?

Regards,
Peng

You could pipe it through an OCR software and let "pdftotext" extract
the text. Should look like this afterwards:

font encoding is quirky

you can try to re-process file with

*pstill*

or (better option) use

*pdftoppm*

pdftoppm -r 300 -png file.pdf 0

and then use an ocr software that supports columns of text and utf-8
output in addition to asiatic languages (the trial of Abbyy finereader for
instance)
