I'm converting an old notebook into a wearable computer...so far so
good. The only thing I'm missing now is a wearable display. As the eye
mount fancy displays are still quite expensive (few hundred $) I'm
looking for an inexpensive mini display.
I need ideas such a pda adapted or something like this. Ideally it
should easily interface from the hardware perspective with a normal
computer since I'm not good at hacking into hardware. My notebook has a
normal monitor interface as well.
I was thinking of existing (even obsolete) devices from where I can use
the display. I can be fine with text only display but it should be able
to display a linux console for example.
I just learnt of video camera's viewfinder being converted into such
display but I don't have any info on how could this be done.
Also, could an LCD from a digital camera be adapted to display computer
output?

thanks in advance.
