The configuration of my new-to-me AlphaStation 400 4/233 is shown below.
1) When I try to boot either of the two disks the error message is:

bootstrap failure
2) Booting from the dka400 (or external dka500) the boot gets as far as:

bootstrap code read in

Then the CD drive lights flash a few times and everything dies. I've tried
booting the firmware 5.3 and 5.9 as well as OVMS 7.2-1 and 7.3 CDs.
The previous owner tells me that one of the two hard disks has OpenVMS
installed. I received the Alpha with the boot enabled for WinNT and
changed the boot console to boot OVMS.
What can I try now?
