Alpha AXP150 firmware update failure

Hello folks:
I am trying to update the firmware of my newly accquired Alpha AXP 150
from 1.6 to 2.2 in order to install OpenVMS 7.2 Alpha, I have downloaded the
firmware from Compaq web site and copied it to a FAT floppy, renamed it to
fwupdate.exe in the root directory as instructed by the Compaq web site.
However, when I tried to use the "install new firmware" under ARC console, I
get an error "No such file or directory, press any key to continue" and the
update failed. Could someone please tell me what's wrong. Thanks heaps in
advance.
Another question, after the VMS 7.2 installation, I was working under
a text console, how to setup and run the Motif Windows? Because I am new in
VMS world, could someone please point out a good web source for learning
OpenVMS, thans.
