We are searching for a good UNISYS mainframe emulation software, preferably,
it also has the "scraper" capability that allows us to get information from
the screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Yibing Wu

Hello there,

I was wondering if you received any responses. I am looking for a
term. emul. program that is OLE 2 compliant so that I can set up an
ADM on a remotespo session so that I can create a paste link into
something like excel so that I can create a web page showing the
mainframe utilization etc.

Any luck?

Thanks,

Which sort of Unisys mainframe? For the 2200, I can recommend
Accessory Manager from Attachmate; I believe it can do A-series too
but I've never used it. Runs under Windows, supports multiple
sessions, etc and has a powerful scripting language (CASL).

For a more GUI approach, use PCE and use VB as a front end.

In fact, for a proper GUI approach, you can use PCE *without* VB. VB is only
used when you want to add significant client intelligence ("fat client") to
your workstation application. But PCE still needs the Attachmate emulator
underneath it if you're talking to 3GL applications, although this is not
necessary if it's LINC or MAPPER you're talking to.

The same suppliers also provide A Series emulator software.

Alternatively, it occurs to me that the original post appeared to be asking
about mainframe emulators, not mainframe terminal emulators - which were you
after, Marc?

Your mind is like an umbrella - it works better if it's open!
Unisys pays me, but the opinions are mine.
