Since I have moved to a MacBook Pro laptop, I have been stymied in my
attempts to run TI99/4A emulation. I am aware of only two emulators
for the Mac: the old MacV9T9 (which run in Classic mode and thus
incompatible on modern Macs), and the more sophisticated M.E.S.S.
application (which *is* supposed to be Mac OS X compatible). However,
M.E.S.S. does not seem to work properly on my new system, and when I
downloaded a newer version, it fails altogether. The web site tkes me
to something called MESSMenu, and it is really arcane to use. The
user interface is completely changed, and I have been frustrated
getting anywhere at all with this.
Can anyone speak to Mac-based TI emulation? Is there an update to the
old M.E.S.S. program that did work well? Or perhaps a Mac OS X
update to MacV9T9? Or better still, a Mac OS X port of one of the
better Windows emulators, like Classic99?
