Does anyone know of a Windows player which recognizes the Deskmate *.sng
format?

My late Dad composed many tunes in that format, and I'd love to hear them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A program called "Midisoft Studio" uses that extension. I believe they had
a trial version on their web page you could try.

I downloaded a program called Midi Studio since I too would like to
listen to my old .sng files, but it doesnt seem to be able to play
them. What site was this program supposed to be at?

The *.sng file format is different on Tandys then in MidiStudio. I
haven't seen a converter that can convert SNG files to MID of anything
like that, but I'll look into this a bit more.

Bill, try

http://www.agate.net/~tvdog/sound.html

and download tspak181.zip

It appears to have utilities to convert from .sng to .wav files. Also
has some source code. There are also other utilities and documents there.

Hope this helps.

It does not seem to have a file there of converting a .sng to wav or
midi, although there is a way to convert from a .snd to a .wav. I
already have software to do this and the conversion programs I need are
for .sng files. I am also interested in finding a program that will
covert .fig files into useable files such as .bmp or .jpg

You are confusing .sng with .snd. .snd is an instrument; .sng is an actual song.
