Old enough to have been around for the 8-bit heyday, but I was the kid
in the neighbor hood with the iie. My neighbor eric had the c64, and
further down the street, kevin with the atari 800.
We met new kids occasionaly and for a year we had a friend, Jim, with
a coco1.
Until now, that was the only coco experience i had.
I am now collecting all the home computers from the era, and I'm
currently working on my trs-80 coco3 setup. Thank goodness for cloud9!
Anyway, I have a question taht will most certainyl be deemeed ignorant
by all of you with the experience:
Since I have no drives yet, I stick primarily to emulation. I notice
when loading many of the "game disks' , essentially disks with 5-10
random games on them, i get an error when loading a .BIN file:
The sequence is as such:
DIR
ROBOT BIN 2 B 4
LOAD "ROBOT"
?NE ERROR
-----
I can run most basic programs (using /BAS), but loading bin files
seems imposible! I've tried with and without "/BIN"
Any ideas why so many files give me "?NE ERROR" ?
Thanks for any input!
Neophytically yours,

BIN files aren't BASIC. You have to load them using LOADM
(or CLOADM for cassette) Look up the exact syntax in the manual.

I figured it was going to be simple, but I didn't realize it was all
the way back to 'rtfm' simple! *blushes*
THANKS both of you for taking your time to help me!!
Kind Regards Gentlemen,
