Hello World,

How much is a Tandy 1000SX with 640K RAM, two 360K disk drives, a
Tandy (Western Digital rebrand) 40MB HardCard, a SmartWatch chip, serial
port, Tandy CM-5 colour monitor, a 286 Express processor upgrade card
running at 8Mhz with 8K cache, a Tandy 1000 keyboard a Logitech 3
button mouse and a Tandy DMP-130A with Tandy 1000 printer cable worth these
days? Boy, that question was a mouthful! It must be a real eyeful, too.
8^) Seriously though, any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS - I also have the Tandy 1000SX Technical Reference Manual, User's
Guide, Deskmate Manuals, all disks including the original Deskmate II,
MS-DOS, MS-DOS supplemental programs and the original Tandy 1000SX
FUNdanmentals. I also have Deskmate 3 which was purchased Radio Shack
with all the manuals including a third party book written for the
operating environment

Wow! That *is* a mouthful!

Since the system includes a monitor and a printer, as well as original
documentation and software and numerous upgrades...

[using USA prices]

...you could probably get $200 - $250 for it all. Selling it
both on the 'net and in local newspapers. I would *definately*
advise being as descriptive as you were above when placing the
advertisments. (I'm assuming you are selling it).

As far as separately...

The Tandy CM-5 monitor: $35 - 45
40 MB Hardcard: $50 (since it is "plug and play", which makes life easier)
286 upgrade board: $75 - 85, since it's a very hard to find item,
and there are numerous people on the lookout for it. (even though
it's not 100% compatible with everything... however, those folks
looking for it generally seem to know enough to get around them)
Tandy DMP-130A printer: $60 - 75 -- it's a sturdy little 9-pin.
Tandy 1000SX with Smartwatch, keyboard, serial board, mouse: $70 - 80

Selling it as a package, though is a better option - especially if you
sell it to someone locally - like a student (high school/college would
be able to get the money together to have a working computer system
of *any* type) or an older person who wants a home computer system
(if you don't mind a few telephone calls for the first three weeks.
As long as it boots up straight to Deskmate, there shouldn't be
much problem).

Question: Was the Deskmate II for the SX graphical or text? I know
that the Deskmate II for the HX and TX looks nearly identical to the
Deskmate 3, but I *think* the Deskmate II for the EX and SX look and work
very similarly to the original Deskmate for the original Tandy 1000.

Ken, Deskmate affecionado :-)

Would be you believe: $150? Maybe $250 if in top condition.

The problem is, 286's have been dead for YEARS. 386's died two years
ago, and 486's will die within a year or two.

Complete 386 VGA systems can be found for <$500, which would mean your
386 with LO-DEN drives and stuff is worth a lot less.
