Way back in 1984, I purchased a Tandy-1000 with the original 128K
of memory. I then purchased one of the Tandy memory upgrades to
get the beast to a whopping 384K!

However, I then bought another computer and forgot all about by
T-1000.

I'm now giving the old Tandy 1000 to my sister to use at University
but I want to upgrade it to 640K first. (Nothing runs in less than
640K these days!!)

I tried getting memory cards for the Tandy 1000 a year or two ago
through local Tandy Computer Centers with no luck.

Does any one have a line on where I could get another 256K for this
computer. The first 256K upgrade has the DMA controller on it so I
assume a simple memory board is all that is needed. The name
Zuckerboard comes to mind?!?

Can anyone out there help me?

Please use e-mail to rut...@bnr.ca

Thanks in advance,

ANY 8-bit memory card will work, I've seen scores of the little suckers,
some even packed with LIM memory in original 1000's.

The 25-1004 (1st 256k board) and the 25-1007 (2nd 256k board) have been
discontinued by Radio Shack. The replacement is still available through
the parts group. It is part number AX-2501011 for the 25-1011. It comes
with 256k on board & can be upgraded to 512k onboard with 8 256kx1 150ns RAMs.
With this board you can have 512k & only use up one card slot, compared to
2 slots with the older boards. They can be ordered through a Radio Shack
store, or by calling the parts group direct (with a credit card) at
1-800-442-2425. They are not cheap, but they are available.

As a note, I posted this because my mailer could not find bnr.ca
