I am taking a survey of the CoCo Community for the upcoming release of the all
new and bug free CoCo 2 emulator that will work under Windows! Is there any
kind of feature other than a TRUE CoCo 2 emulator, that YOU would like to see
added? Speak up now! This should be ready by the Penn Fest 1999 show! The
CoCo 3 emulator will follow!

The
>CoCo 3 emulator will follow!

1) The ability to read CoCo disks directly rather than having virtual disks.
2) The ability to load and save cassette files through a soundcard rather
than virtual
cassettes (It's been done for some Model I emulator)
3) 100% emulation (NO unimplemented features)
4) The ability to run OS9.
5) Publish a way to attach a ROM port to the PC so we could use all out old
ROMS directly!

There you go! These are things (except maybe #5) that a lot of people want
if my e-mail
is true to form.

I think it would be a good thing if the authors got together. It should
be possible to write code that will handle the 3 basic Tandy modulation
schemes (250 bps, 500 bps, 1500 bps) and get it *solid*. With that
"engine" in place, the emulator then only has to hook into it to read
write cassettes.

bps system
---- -------
250 Model I Level I, Model III Level I
500 Model I Level II, Model III Level II
1500A Model III, Model 100, Model 200
1500B CoCo, MC-10

The 1500A and 1500B have the order of the bits in the bytes reversed
IIRC. And 1500A has some format differences between the Model 3 and the
Model 100/200.
