Hello, we have a Pathway server that utilizes the Gcrypt library from Tuglib. The server uses the function 'gcry_randomize' to generate 18 random bytes.
This all works well. However, the server which uses the function is creating 'phantom' unnamed processes. These processes are created with an extremely small page limit and thus are causing excessive page faulting! This will impact system performance eventually.

Does anybody have any experience or solution for this problem?

Thanks.

So every time the Pathway server calls the "gcry_randomize" function a new process is started?

I recall seeing reports of this, or a similar problem, some time ago. Probably a few years ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything about what the solution was, or even if a solution was found. I also don't remember whether the discussion was here or on one of the LinkedIn forums about NonStop.

That isn't much help, I know, but knowing that there was prior discussion of the problem might give you enough motivation to do some searching here and on LinkedIn for that earlier discussion. It might have a solution. I wish I could remember more, but I don't.
