The Sparc 10/LX speakerbox is not just a dumb speaker. It is a digital
CS4215 mmcodec running off of a serial connection.
The Sparc 10 needs it because it has no onboard mmcodec. The Sparc 5
uses totally different audio hardware (a CS4231) that is integrated,
there would be no meaningful way to use the speakerbox. The connector
that it seems to fit is for AUI ethernet only.

Go down to any PC store and get a set of amplified speakers. The Sparc 5
has a conventional 3.5mm stereo line out jack.
No, Sun didn't produce one that I know of.

Sure it does, open Audiotool, Select the Volume button and choose 'play'.
then click the 'line out' button. just plug amplified PC speakers into the
SS5's Line out jack...
