We are in the process of setting up a Fiber backbone for image
transfer between various sparcs and servers. I have looked st
the Sun Sbus FDDI card and the price looks reasonable but they
are only a single attach card and therefor require a concentrator.

Does any one have any leads on a concentrator that will work with
the sun card? What are they, the cost and where do I find one?

Is there a better alternative? IE some dual attach cards for the
Sbus that are of reasonable cost. I would like to connect about
seven machines on the fibber and let them serve as a router to
a traditional ethernet.

Well, all concentrators should work with the Sun FDDI card beacuse they
are supposed to be ANSI FDDI compatable. Besides SUN, you can also
buy FDDI S-Bus cards from NPI. They also make VME, PC FDDI cards.

As far as getting a concentrator, you might want to can Proteon, Cabletron,
SynOptics, AT&T, Timeplex, NPI and Optical Data System for more information.
