Sun's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Reference Architecture,
based on products from Sun and Sybase Inc., has recently
developed the largest data warehouse on record. This system
managed large amounts of data efficiently, compressing input data
to 30 to 80 percent of its original size.

The new Java[TM] Specification Request (JSR #168) will be the
industry's first portal API standard. Eighteen companies,
including BroadVision, Plumtree and Vignette will collaborate
with Sun on the specification that will enable interoperability
between Portlets and Portals. This specification will define a
set of APIs for Portal computing, addressing the areas of
aggregation, personalization, presentation and security.
