I received a TrueType font in six files (from a w-i-n-d-o-w-s
user) that I would like to install.

afontb__.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)
afontbi_.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)
afontc__.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)
afonte__.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)
afontei_.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)
afonti__.ttf: TrueType font file version 1.0 (TTF)

When I try to install them (as root) with sdtfontadm it
seems to think that they are all the same font with
unknown foundry and family and will only install one.

Programs like Gimp don't seem to pick up the font,
which is my objective. It seems to report (nil) as
the family and then is unable to display it.

xfontsel reports four fonts with unknown foundry that
look like the font wanted, but they seem to be all
the same.

# xlsfonts | grep unknown
-unknown----normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1
-unknown----normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1

Is there some byte editing I could do to jigger it
into submission or is there a simpler way?

I would be grateful for any assistance by e-mail
(preferred) or newsgroup

Alan.
