Hello to all:

I am running Solaris 7 on a SPARC 5 and had its TCP/IP info configured
with a static IP/hostname. I now have a need to change it, and am
having problems.

My hardware setup is the pizza box only. I have a PC connected to the
SPARC's serial port.

I have changed /etc/hosts, /etc/le0, and a couple others I cannot think
of. The IP address is now updated properly, but the hostname remains
as the old identity. Is there an easy text tool to perform the
changes, or are there additional files I need to work with?

Thanks.

Hi,
the easiest way to reconfigure everything is to boot to single-user-mode
and do a "/usr/sbin/sys-unconfig". On the bootup the system asks you for
the new hostname, ip-address etc.

You forgot to change /etc/nodename
