Am i missing something? Any help greatly appreciated. Please remove
"nospam" from the mail address.
TIA,
Daniel
i have an ultra5 with a 30 gig ibm drive (might be the same) and it
works fine...
and as the u5/u10 are very similar down to the board level, i don't
see what could be causing your problem, other than an outdated prom...

Are you sure that you're running Solaris 8? The current 04/01 release of
Solaris does not have such a drive size limitation, and I think the FCS
version had a 32GB limit, not 8GB.
root@keaton [/]> uname -a
SunOS keaton 5.8 Generic_108528-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
Ron! - i am not familiar with the procedure of updating / checking the
boot prom revision, can you provide me with some information? I didnt
find anything on Sun's website so far...
TIA,
Daniel

It is NOT a PROM revision problem... The PROM has absolutely nothing to do
with the hard drive size, and doesn't care how big it is.
