I tried to install the SOL8 Intel version on a Dell with a P2 intel but
it would not identify the CPU interupts correctly and failed several times.

Well, no. But there's a company called "Tadpole RDI" that makes
SPARC laptops if you're interested. A company I used to work for had one.
