Hi People

I'm trying to setup virtual emails accounts where people have different
accounts other than the domain that resides on my permanent connection.
I setup sendmail as according to the manuals by sun. I can recompile
sendmails cf file for virtual users or emails and I believe in my dns
zone file for the new domain points to the fixed mail server of my
domain name. I can add the virtusertable in /etc/mail and make the file.

But my problem is this. When I email the virtual user at the virtual
domain, I get a reply from the mail server telling me either as follows

----- Transcript of session follows -----
554 MX list for digitalmagic.com.au. points back to webgate.net.au
554 <bm...@digitalmagic.com.au>... Local configuration error

What do I need to correctly enter either into my dns or am I forgetting
something in my sendmail.cf or something else.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Please contact me on jsir...@ausnetinfo.com.au

It would be helpful if you posted your sendmail.mc (m4 source - not the
resultant sendmail.cf!) and DNS zone files.

Have you added digitalmagic.com.au to sendmail.cw?

NT tries to do almost everything UNIX does, but fails - miserably.

The use of Windoze cripples the mind; its use should, therefore, be
regarded as a criminal offence. (With apologies to Edsger W. Dijkstra)

If it ain't analogue, it ain't music.

Your sendmail does not know that the virtual domains are LOCAL.
You need to add the domains to sendmail.cw and set up the users
as valid users on your system.
If the users are on another machine you can set up an alias
to forward to user@machine.
