Terminal Emulators

Greetings,
I have a VOS customer looking for a solution (Other than PC-Connect),
to their PC to Stratus connectivity issue.
I know of a couple of products, but have had very limited exposure to
them. (Procomm & if I'm not mistaken, DRA had a product along these
lines.)
Anyone have opinions on any of these products?
I saw a demo of a product called "KeyShell" from Keydata S.A., at Stratagy
last year & haven't heard anything further on it. Anyone using it?

Hi Richard,
If you had gone to the Stratagy in Munich (just recently behind us)
you would have seen Keyshell and Keydata giving live demo's of this
Windows based terminal emulator. It offers 100% PCC2 compatibilty,
including pc_file_transfer, gives you asynch and tcp/ip type
connections and graphical tools/utilitites to help you navigate
through your local PC hard disk and disks on your Stratus machine. It
also emulates 100% v102 , v103_ascii and v103_epc. If you want more
info then contact the distributor for Keyshell in US Application
Resources (er...@way.com) or Amstec for Europe (ams...@pi.net) or
Keydata itself for Latin America (key...@startel.com.ar).
...And just to be fair, there was one other supplier of a terminal
emulator who was also at the Stratagy: Cavendish with mdterm.
Turbosoft (I think) has a product called TTwin which is very pretty
but (in my experience at least) is somewhat flaky when it comes to
using all the available Stratus function keys. If you want more info I
suggest you get in touch with these suppliers.

We've been using MDTerm since 1993 - it's a great Stratus terminal emulator
for PC's (it's actually more than that, but that's it's main function -
which it does extremely well).
Give Jim Cowie a ring at Devteq in Atlanta 770-454-7007 - he can set you up
with a fully functional trial/demo copy of the software.

system shell (the VOS Command Processor or FTX Bourne shell), the
interface is similar for both VOS and FTX. Users that need to work with

And the great thing about the software, it is residing in your PC only. No
part of SSHELL need to be loaded on your Host. No degradation of
performance, no way to interfere with your Host.
+SERIAL & TCP/IP CONNECTIONS (MULTIPLE SESSIONS):- SSHELL supports multiple
sessions and connections to the same or different host simultaneously
under TCP/IP and/or Serial Connections. The user can open as many sessions
as allowed by the SysAdmin and up to the limit of the PC configuration
(number of ports, size of RAM, etc.). Since the SSHELL sessions can be
stored in a file, the user may have a set of saved sessions configured for
different hosts and operating systems.
