This game was a sort of RPG, but it had action elements. I think it might
have been mostly a platform game, but with trading and statistics and
stuff...? Released probably around 1990.

You could get in-game hints by buying drinks, and e.g. beer and whisky would
give you different hints.

For some reason I associate it with The Bard's Tale and Wonderboy, but it
was neither.

Any ideas?
