i just noticed that the App which lets you play games in Game mode and also program in 48K BASIC or the 128K variant is on the App Store. I just downloaded it to my iPad although I don't have a keyboard.
You're welcome.

Well that didn't take long and I have Just ordered a keyboard.

To clarify, as there has been confusion, it is just a Bluetooth keyboard. No games inside it or hot parts.

What you do get, that you don't get with other keyboards, is a dedicated website that you can try now, and an App for the iPad with the Android app at the end of this month (ish).

You can cast to a TV from your phone or tablet which is what demos have shown so far.

Next month Apple launch their newest Apple TV which is making a push into games and apps.

These will run under TVOS and developers can get a machine now. Apple are creating a dedicated App Store.

Apart from the new remote with touchpad it has Bluetooth like current models.

It's almost certain that Steve, Jonathan and others are interested.

I need a simple alphanumeric keyboard to enter postcodes and search items into my TV so the one I've just acquired will do fine in simple mode and will look cool when not in use.

The Recreated ZX Spectrum is like Spectaculator one of the most international embodiments of the ZX Spectrum. Bluetooth, iOS, Android, TVOS are the same the world over. Even the Vega gets the thumbs down from people in America due to its display.

How do you get it to load games from tape? Or am I missing something?

That's all in the air at the moment.
Elite have been open with the key codes and published a guide for third party program providers.
Hopefully emulators like Spectaculator will add an interface to the keyboard.
Jonathan has already interfaced Spectaculator to iCade Bluetooth controllers.
Even so Apple are strict and don't allow you to just run any old software on iOS Spectaculator.

You can load any Spectrum program into Android Spectaculator which I find really great.
It would be a boon if emulator authors interfaced to this Bluetooth keyboard on PC emulators.

It's all very shiny at the moment and we will have to wait and see.
It looks hopeful though.

I did wonder about the vega, as its not as flexible as a software emulator
running on modern hardware after all.
it reminded me of when Amstrad tried to turn its CPC into a games console.
IE it was a good idea in part but not thought through. They would have been
better making something run on the Amiga which was around at that time, but
oof course they would not earn megabucks from a cheap emulator!
