The best go-to in our green salad recipes: this favorite chopped salad! Without fail, people always ask, "Wow! What is in this?" It's got an Italian flair, filled with crisp romaine, sliced shallots, and Parmesan cheese. The kicker? Sliced pepperoncini, which add tang and a little heat. Top it off with our classic Homemade Italian Dressing and it's the perfect pair to just about anything.

This spinach apple salad is as easy as it is tasty! No one will believe it took minutes to put together. Start with a bed of greens and add crisp apple and pear. Our best balsamic vinaigrette covers it in tangy sweet goodness, and the best part? Maple-glazed walnuts or pecans! Just a few minutes in a hot skillet with maple syrup makes the nuts come out shiny and lightly sweet.

Here's another simple green salad recipe, this one starring leafy green kale! Raw kale can sometimes have a bitter taste. But with this flavor popping Italian-style dressing of lemon, Parmesan cheese, and garlic, the bitter taste of the kale is mellowed and melds beautifully with the other flavors. Plus, the sturdy texture of the kale holds up well in a salad, and provides an extra crunch when eating.

This Mexican salad is full of delicious Latin-style flavors: colorful veggies, cilantro lime salad dressing, and crispy tortilla strips. It all combines into a super-flavorful dish that's absolutely perfect with tacos! Even better, it's quick and easy to make.

What we love about this salad is that it's like a good pair of heels or boots. It literally goes with anything! A good salad has got to have contrasts in texture, flavor, and colors, and this one is all about that. There's lots of crunchy veggies. There are pumpkin seeds, and our tasty Homemade Croutons.

This strawberry salad is one of our most popular salad recipes, pairing sweet strawberries with an insanely good strawberry vinaigrette salad dressing! Paired with crunchy red onions, toasted almonds, feta cheese crumbles, and those delicious sweet berries, this green salad is the perfect way to enjoy seasonal berries.

My favorite fresh salad featuring healthy greens, sliced apple, toasted pepitas, dried cranberries and crumbled goat cheese. Toss with my simple apple cider vinaigrette (recipe below) or use balsamic dressing in a pinch. Recipe yields 2 full-sized salads or 4 to 6 side salads.

This salad was delicious. I have tried several different vinaigrette dressings recipes over the past few months but this one comes up on top! I will definitely be using this dressing regularly now. Delicious!!

One of my favorite green salads of all time! Crisp romaine gets lightly charred, then drizzled with an irresistibly tangy cashew vegan caesar dressing. This one is on page 111 of our new cookbook, Love & Lemons Every Day.

I love how big cubes of feta, juicy tomatoes, olives, herbs, bell peppers, and cucumber tumble together in this stunning summer salad with a homemade Greek salad dressing. You only need 7 ingredients and a few minutes to put together this juicy/crisp/tangy/savory combo. What are you waiting for?

This fresh corn salad features all my summer favorites: grilled sweet corn, juicy peaches, and lots of fresh basil! To highlight the crisp, fresh ingredients, I toss it with a zesty chile lime dressing.

This summery bean salad is incredibly versatile. Dress it up with a soft-boiled egg or chickpeas to make it a meal, or serve the mix of potatoes, green beans, and lemony dressing as a simple grilling side.

This poke-inspired summer salad features juicy cubes of watermelon and crunchy macadamia nuts along with conventional poke fixings like cucumber, ginger & avocado. I toss it all in a tangy tamari-lime dressing to make a super fresh, fun summer dish.

Make this ultra-refreshing salad on hot summer days! Creamy avocado, tangy feta, and bright lime wonderfully accent cool, juicy melon and cucumber. A handful of fresh herbs is the perfect finishing touch.

These recipes all look fabulous.
My mum used to make what she called a winter salad. As far as I remember it had shredded cabbage, carrot, onion, apple and raisins. And I think she just put vinegar on it.
Do you have any similar recipes?
Thanks. x

Like I mentioned earlier, this easy green salad can be served with ANY meal. It is the best basic side salad. We call it our house salad because it is a family favorite and we make it all of the time! If you wanted to make a meal out of the salad, you could top the salad with grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp, beef, or beans!

Your recipes look and sound terrific.
I am planning on having guests for dinner Saturday and am going to make your carrot ginger soup, easy green salad with homemade croutons and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Along with your Buttermilk biscuits. Can you recommend appetizers? Of course I will be making a dessert, so perhaps you could also recommend a dessert to go with everything.
Thanks in advance..
Pam Koller

Thanks! Your dinner sounds wonderful. For appetizers, you could do baked brie or stuffed mushrooms. For dessert, you could make flourless chocolate cake or raspberry almond ricotta cake! All of the recipes are on our blog! Have fun!

You can serve this tossed salad as a side salad to go with any meal. Or, make it a main dish salad by adding some protein. Grilled chicken, salmon or hard boiled eggs would all be delicious additions to this salad recipe.

The base of green salad is generally topped with tomatoes and lardons, which carefully enhance the flavor of the goat cheese toasts, served warm straight out of the oven and directly on top of the salad.

The cauchoise salade, with a potato base, is quite remarkable by its peculiar use of herbs, generally, watercress or fennel, which are treated as actual ingredients rather than mere seasoning or dressing.

The Norman salad, on a base of green salad (and sometimes potatoes), generally contains apples, Camembert cheese and walnuts, with a seasoning made of vinegar cider, to make up an original and still delicious dish.

Roughly chop your bacon into bite-sized pieces before adding it to your salad bowl along with your roasted vegetables and avo mayo dressing. Give it a good toss and finish with some lemon zest. Enjoy.
