While the Americans did design the worlds best 8Bit home computer...

(dons flameproof suit)

...why is it that nearly all the good games came from PAL land?

And if it wernt for us brits building computers, the 'merkins and the rest
of the world wouldn't be where they are today. The name "Charles Babbage"

Well, two, of course, but don't ask me how they got in there.

Big load of rot that is. They can build anything. They just can't fit an
electrical system to anything. Makes it a bit hard when they put together a
computer. The Jags sure are swell although you may have to push start one or
put out the occasional electrical fire...

> While the Americans did design the worlds best 8Bit home computer...

And the best commercial 8 bit and 16 bit and 32 bit and 64 bit and 128 bit
computers..and programming languages..and..and..and...

> ...why is it that nearly all the good games came from PAL land?

THE FUCKING PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS HAD TIME TO WRITE VIDEO GAMES???

WHEN THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN???

What's a Slanneshi? Something that goes on a pizza?

Strangely it was the country where sold more the Atari ST (compared to the
legendary Amiga) and the Megadrive (compared to the stratospheric SuperNes).
It is no accident, I know.

Modern keyboards use the same membrane approach used by the Spectrum.
Admittedly I was thinking of the plastic key cap version (the Spectrum+).

> Seriously now, why would you claim that? Dell is fine.

My Dell keyboard has died after three years of use. And I really looked
after it. That's why I've going with an IBM-M type keyboard this time.
I'm fairly sure the original bread-bin C64s had more solid keyboards
than the later models. It's all about cost cutting.

In this case, your assertion ought to be "same technology as the
spectrum *plus* ;)

Yes and they're all SHITE.

No, Dell is SHITE.

IBM's Model M is a great keyboard because of design and materials. But the
Cherry keyboards are often faster even though they're not as good as a Model
M. And they can be quite a bit quieter as well.

Maybe but they were still SHITE compared to a Model M. Nothing against the
C64, it's just like an all in one stereo vs components. The component model
is almost always head and shoulders above the one piece, as each piece is
designed as a separate component to one purpose rather than having to fit in
with other pieces. There's only so much you can do with a one piece computer
although they really should have used a Model M and added the C64 mobo to
that ;-)
