Probably many people are already aware, but there is a rather good
Spectrum emulator for the Nintendo DS which DSspec which can be played
via an R4 cart.

Being that the Spectrum was my "first love" its quite a bizarre feeling
carrying around a portable emulated spectrum! For the price of a DS and
an R4 cart you can have a spectrum in your pocket.

Probably old news, however only started looking at the family DS when I
was originally shown that software.

Kind regards

I concede!

What I would give to have one of this "spectops" or "specbooks" that you
showed!

Its nearly up there with my dream of owning an original Dragons Lair
arcade cabinet!

Nice Adventure.
I have played it single step/sword commands, some scenes even blind...
(single commanded too, off course...)!
You need to know the timing by the moving scenery (or voice/noise :-)).
However, the Frog-King scene is expecting single (exact) commands for
sure.

It struck me when I installed FUSE on my Acer Aspire One that it's about
the same size as a Speccy. And when the lid's open, it looks a lot like
that photo.

Only widescreen. With a proper(-ish) keyboard. And white. Oh, you know
what I mean...

I think the real novelty of running on the DS is it can handle speccy
tape files (not simply memory dumps) so to see the beeeeeep..beep.
"Program: Rtype" is a real trip down memory lane and a novelty on your
little DS! Also I think the entire catalogue of speccy titles could be
stuffed on a miniXD...great stuff.

Oh, I agree; I wasn't trying any one-upmanship there. It sounds
brilliant. What's the resolution like, though? I was under the
impression the DS's was slightly lower than the Speccy's, or am I
thinking of the GBA?

:) I know! Just a bit of fun....

Good question in regards to res, although looking at it I'd say the res
on the DS is probably higher (could be wrong)

Before I forget theres a few Waves on the Spectrum (as in on Google
Wave) I have quite a few beta invites left if anyone wants one, please
just ask.
