Hi everyone !

The first Sinclair Computer to be made is now emulated. I've written an
emulator for the Science of Cambridge MK14 trainer kit. Guaranteed 100%
compatible with all commercial software.

It's available from http://users.aol.com/mk14emu/index.htm. It's only
a 5k download (Zipped 11k COM file). Full debugging facilities are
available.

Also on the site : Schematics, Parts List, ROM Listing, Assembler
tools, Information on the SC/MP microprocessor and I/O chip, an
FAQ and a tutorial.

Regards, Paul Robson (auti...@aol.com)

Thanks for the site. I've often wondered what the MK-14 was and now I
can emulate it. I'd love to have one for real but I guess they're
pretty rare. At least I know what I'm looking for.

Well done,

Steve.

Just spoke to Sir Clive. In the few minutes I had to talk to him for a
feature I'm working on for PCF, I mentioned the fact that there's now an
MK14 emulator. He was quietly amused:

"(Laughs) Oh dear... It gets madder and madder!"

Good work, fella.

Jim.

Great. Now, can wtite speccy emulator ;)

Has anyone thought of making an emulator that can read long file names
in dos (but not write, cos it could f**k it up). Don't tell me it can't
be done, cos I've seen a proggy that can do this.

Already done it. Now have MK14, ZX80,ZX81 and Speccy emulators.
Maybe I should write a QL and Z88 emulator for completeness ?

Mk14 Emulator : just started.... but works.

http://users.aol.com/autismuk/emu.htm [might be emu.html]
and (I think) sinclair.htm

Spectrum Emulator : Dead ordinary Asm based 48k Speccy Em,
has a decent debugger, source available, unspectacular. Interesting
approach to sound based on guessing what the game is trying to do :
results vary between wonderful and dire. Ok but not brilliant.

ZX81/ZX80 Emulator : Emulates a ZX80 or 81, will run just about
anything. More compatible than Xtender 1, less compatible than
Xtender 2 (but freeware and speed limited). Very good emu
(modest), very pleased with this one.

and a Jupiter Ace emulator (ex Sinclair employee machine)
somewhere between Speccy and '81, FORTH based. Pretty
accurate (say about 95%) some software available. (more to
come soon, thanks guys).

All source available (assembler) except MK14 (not yet)

Fine job! Congratulations.

??
Could you explain further on that sound guessing stuff?

Me too! I haven't tried Xtender 2, but yours was the only one in
which I could run City Patrol (a nostalgic game for me) properly.

Your emulator gave me the chance to see how did the Ace look like.

I'm curious about it :)
