www.sgisun.com has a similar machine, but probably not as high a spec,
for $2200, so maybe a bit more than than this would be reasonable.

I think that's a dangerous assumption .... electronics are different from
other objects : a $100,000 computer that doesn't work and can't be made
to work isn't worth ten dollars. Resale prices on complex equipment really
need to reflect the knowledge and abilities of the buyer and seller both.
To me, an Accramatic 900 complete would be worth about $500 because
I have a machine that uses that computer. To someone without the rest
of the machine it would be worthless. To someone with a broken Acc 900
that needed a spare part it might be worth $5,000. In the case of an SGI
computer, I'd think that a great part of the price you pay to a reputable
or other supplier is in the assurance that you're getting a complete, running,
guaranteed unit. If I were just getting a pile of parts I'd not be willing to pay
*nearly* that much. Conversely, if the box came from a company with a
reputation for good maintenance, someone would lead you by the hand
through its idiosyncracies and there is useful software included, perhaps
it could be worth even more than from a known reseller. It all depends ...
