Hi there,

I have, sort of, inherited a Sequent machine and I'd like to know what I
have. I hope if I describe it, someone can give me more details.

As a reference in size, it stands as high as a HP9000/822 and is slighty
wider (something like 2 PC towers stacked) and a little wider. The box
is white. There is a door on the front with a black panel in the upper
right corner with status lights. Oopening the door reveals 6 or so
disk/tape slots on the right side. Once is filled with, what appears to
be 250mb tape drive, the rest have hard disks.

To the rear in the upper right corner there are a set of LEDs and a UPS
jack. Several warnings about 250v in various languages. A large PSU
cable is screwed into the box. The whole PSU appears to be removable as
there is a handle on the back. There's several expansion slots, one has
two parallel ports, one has an ethernet port or two, another has a bank
of about 16 ethernet ports. This could be a built in hub or a majorly
multihomed network machine.

It runs Dynix/ptx and has several of the install tapes with it. I can
see some sort of serial number on a sticker at the bottom right, but the
machine is in a position where I cannot get down to read it. I may have
to do some mirror tricks to get information off that.

Anyway, if anyone can give me a clue as to what sort of machine this is,
I'd very much appreciate it.

Regards
Nigel
