Strictly true ... but Linux with no apps, and for most
no GUI, just ain't worth doing.

I've seen it, and not just in Europe. I may sound a bit
odd here, but I think 'civilizations' can get 'old and
senile'. Then they grow weak, confused, and soon enough
some outsiders take control (and make life even worse).
Civs/nations that still have the "eye of the tiger" are
on the uptick. All others become prey.
Putin re-made Russia, kind-of gave it "the eye" again.
Iran and other Islamics are also born again hungry.
China is the odd one out ... something about the culture.
It's more the snake, always slithering into affairs and
then squeezing. It is a predator, but quiet, stealthy,
selective, patient.
