I was mulling over the idea of upgrading from s3a to s5, so went to a
local store and spent half hour to check it out. my overall impression
is not too positive but i hope that by sharing it someone with more
experience can correct me.

the biggest improvements i can see are the bigger keys and touch
sensitive screen. i agree it is easier to type in this keyboard but
some keys i often use such as the dash (-, for entering tel #s) can't be
accessed directly now. the keys are also a bit stiff.

the touch screen is a great idea because many frequently used commands
are now accessible as buttons on the screen. this in effect extends the
size of the keyboard. what i thought should follow naturally but
couldn't find was the drag and drop feature. it would be nice if i can
move agenda entries by drag and drop. also, the ability to select
multiple entries/lines in agenda/database to process them collectively
would be nice. eg., as a procastinator i frequently have to move
multiple to-do entries from one day to the next :-)

the standard apps are not much improved from the 3 series. It seems to
me psion was more concerned about providing additional fancy multimedia
features, instead of improving the existing functions. i don't know how
other people use pison but i don't think i ever need to add graphics to
my agenda.

so my conclusion is to keep my 3a.
