Is anyone out there having trouble running Pswin 1.1 (3c) from Windows
98. I just switched machines and copied over my hard drive - didn't
work. Reinstalled PSIWIN- doesn't work.
Any ideas?

I'm using it with W98 with no problems at all. Sorry I can't
suggest what you need to do - I did nothing when I upgraded, it just
worked as before (as did all my programs - W98 is one of the best OS
upgrades I have had the pleasure to buy).

Thanks. That tells me it's not PSwin, so I don't have to buy 2.2 and it's
not Windows 98. That leaves just my computer!

Don't be quite so hasty to condemn your computer. I have tried all sorts of
tricks to get PsiWin 1.1 to run under Win 98 on my Compaq Armada with NO
success. It worked fine with Win 95. PsiWin 2.1 (free download) transfers
files OK but cannot convert Agenda files except to P5 format. I am planning
to buy 2.2 and hope that works better.

I have selected some of your terms only, I admit. But I have a strange problem
of file exchange with PsiWin 2.1 on a Compaq Armada :

When I drag a file or a directory from the Psion tree structure to a directory
on the PC, I have a "no way" sign which indicates an impossibility of
transmission. However, the exchange in the other direction is possible and
work fine. Psion technical support could not solve this problem, but said me
that they met a strange problem like that on another Compaq Armada, and maybe
was due to a Win 95 installation particularity on these machine.

What is your idea about that ? Have you heard of similar things ?

Thank's in advance. Michel.

Mine is an Armada 1530, Win95, too. No problems. Mostly using IR.

Ok... I have too a big problem with a compaq armada 1540D and W98. My cable
connexion with psion DOES NOT WORK!!!!! Or it works sometimes. SO, I have resolved
the solution : using infrared communications with psion and armada. First, you
have to limit the speed communication on infrared connexion to 57000 bauds on
psion, and on the PC (ifrared icon on the taskbar). Then, you have to do the same
think to psiwin 2.1 (connection properties).

Then, you have to close the communication channel each time you want to connect on
psion..... oh oh.... bad expression.... I am restarting....

When you want to connect, you have to close the communication with the pc (on
psion), to open this one in infrared mode. So, the channel is clean, and the
communication with the PC work fine.

It is my exprience, sorry for my poor English.

Arrivedercho!
