I am considering moving to Psion series 5 instead of upgrading from a
Newton 120 to 2100 (in the face of the lack of news about an Apple
equivalent or continued Newton support).

Is there any confirmation that a new Psion 5 ROM would have support for
some type of formatted text output (e.g. RTF) that would be compatible
with Macintosh desktop hardware? How about spreadsheet transfer to the
Mac?

Are there any equivalents to Newton Books on the Psion? ---> Books are
non-editable text documents (pages can be bookmarked) on the Newton that
can be created as reference documents by anyone with appropriate software.
Quite a large number of classic fiction and non-fiction texts are
available at the Project Newtonberg website. This makes a very useful way
to take reference sources _or_ novels with you when travelling (no extra
space in your suitcase, delete when finished).

TIA for your comments,
